Julia Mary Kasparian

June 23, 1992 - March 28, 2016

Julia Mary Kasparian Julia Mary Kasparian, age 23, of Andover, Mass., passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2016.
Julia was a devoted, loving and humble daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend. She was a constant source of light and inspiration to her entire family and many lifelong friends, especially her father, Harry Kasparian of Andover, Mass; her siblings, Melissa (Kasparian) Swergold of New York, N.Y., Amy Kasparian of Boston, Mass., and Michael Kasparian of Austin, Texas. She had an obvious and deep connection with her dog, Brody, a rescue whom she adopted in 2015.
Julia graduated from Andover High School in 2010, attended Bates College and Boston University, and aspired to build a career in service to others. She thought deeply about social issues and challenged others to do the same. Throughout her life, Julia was an enthusiastic volunteer at several local organizations including the Atria Marland Place Assisted Living Residence in Andover and the Old South Church in Boston. She also regularly organized teams and participated in fundraising activities for many causes, including the Walk for Hunger, Autism Speaks Walk, and the ALS Race4Research.
An athlete and lover of the outdoors, Julia could often be spotted on a long-distance run, hiking the trails of New England, or swimming off the coast of Cape Cod. She was an avid soccer player and track team member at Andover High School. Her talent and love for running continued after graduation as she competed regularly in fundraising running events, which she eagerly coordinated and shared with her family, including the Andover Feaster Five Road Race and the Rockport Father's Day Road Race.
Julia shared smiles and laughs through her love of music, dancing, and lip-syncing, bringing endless joy to her family and friends. Her warmth, silliness, beautiful smile, and love for others will be incredibly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were conducted by family friend, Fr. Michael Hobson, and held at St. Joseph Church in Andover, Mass., on April 2, 2016. Julia was laid to rest in Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill, Mass., with her grandparents, Harry Kasparian and Beulah (Parvanian) Kasparian, whom she loved dearly.
The family requests that those wishing to memorialize Julia's life please take the NAMI Stigma Free Pledge and donate to support mental health research at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., or donate to the Sterling Animal Shelter in Sterling, Mass.
