VENICE, FL - A. William "Bill" MacCannell, of Venice, FL, passed away on February 23, 2018. He was born in Haverhill, MA on February 14, 1930 to Mary (Ring) and Augustine W. MacCannell.
Bill was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1953. After which he became an accountant and supervisor at AT&T (Western Electric) for 33 years. Bill was involved in the V.F.W., American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and Pioneers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Jean L. (Curtis) MacCannell; daughter Linda Sproule, Donna McBride (John), and Judith Smith (Kevin); grandchildren, Jessica Sproule, Christopher Sproule, Leanne Sproule, Erin McBride, Kelly McBride, Caitlin McBride, Melissa Smith, Mark Smith, and Colleen Smith; brothers James E. MacCannell; sister-in-law JoAnn MacCannell; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John L. MacCannell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 1st at 10 a.m. at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church, Venice, FL. Interment will be at a later date in North Andover.
