Agata (DiMauro)'s Story

LAWRENCE - Agata (DiMauro) DiMarca, 100, of Lawrence passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Motta S. Anastasia, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Orazio and Agata (Durso) DiMauro.
Mrs. DiMarca was raised and educated in Italy and immigrated to Lawrence with her family in 1956. She retired from Grieco Brothers where she worked as a seamstress for 28 years. She was a member of the Sons of Italy, Italian Mother's Club, St. Rita's Sodality, and a parishioner at Holy Rosary Church.
Mrs. DiMarca was predeceased by her beloved husband, Andrea Giuseppe DiMarca, and siblings Giuseppe, Salvatore, Antonino, Santo, Mario, and Angelo DiMauro, and Grace Grasso.
She is survived by her children, Nunzio DiMarca and his wife, Patricia of Methuen, Orazio DiMarca and his wife, Leona of Methuen, Anastasio DiMarca of Methuen, and Carmelo DiMarca of Italy; grandchildren, Agata, AnnaMaria, Giuseppe, Miguel, Katherine, Treva, Andrew, Anastasia, Sofia and Lukas; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Dominic, Natalia, Anthony, Lilly and Logan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. DiMarca's home was the meeting place for her family. She loved company and often prepared sumptuous Sicilian meals for all to enjoy, especially during the annual Feast of the Three Saints in Lawrence. She loved her family, always offering coffee and having biscotti and cookies ready to give to them and visitors, alike.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Alfio's Society, 20 Common St., Lawrence, MA 01840 or to a charitable organization of your choice.
