SALEM, NH - Alfred C.J. Petralia, 94, of Salem, NH passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at High Pointe House of Merrimack Valley Hospice in Haverhill. Born in Lawrence, he was the son of the late Antonio and Grazia (Frazzetto) Petralia.
Mr. Petralia was a graduate of Holy Rosary Grammer School, Lawrence High School, and Villanova University. During WWII, he served in the US Navy as a gunnery officer aboard the battleship, USS California, in the Asiatic-Pacific and American Theaters.
Mr. Petralia was formerly employed by Raytheon Corporation in Andover and Textron Systems in Wilmington. He was a member of the Greater Boston Villanova Alumni Club, the USS California Association, and the Textron Systems Retirees Association.
Mr. Petralia was predeceased by his beloved wife, Norvelle (King) Petralia; and his sisters, Constance Fiorentini and Nancy Petralia.
He is survived by his daughter, Alyson G. LeBel and her husband, Dana of Salem, N.H.; brother, Frank Petralia of Methuen; sister, Teresa Petralia of Methuen; and his grandchildren, Anthony and David LeBel. He leaves many nieces and nephews as well as his close friend, Mary Arsenault of Haverhill.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours Monday, January 15, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
