Alice's Story

Text size

Alice O'Connor Josephs was born in Andover, Mass. and raised her daughter, Katie, in North Andover, Mass. Alice spent over 30 years helping children and families as a social worker in Lawrence, Mass. She later moved to Sunapee, N.H., to be closer to family, and, more importantly, so she could watch every sports event in which her grandsons took part. When she turned 60 years old, Alice got her master's degree and began her own family therapy practice where she impacted more lives than she could have ever known. She will be remembered and celebrated by her daughter, Katherine Flint; her son-in-law, Scott; and her two beloved grandsons, Harper and Jonah. She was the daughter of the late, Frank and Alice O'Connor of Andover, Mass., and sister to Mary (and Ron) Sears, Jane (and Rich) Frantz, Nancy (and Paul) Stolberg, the late John O'Connor, and aunt to many nephews and nieces and their families. She was an important friend, a magnificent mother, and she made the world a kinder place.
Calling hours will be held at the Chadwick Funeral Home at 235 Main St., New London, NH, on Thursday, December 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will take place at the South Congregational Church in Newport, N.H., on Friday, December 8, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Alice's family has set up the Alice Josephs Memorial Fund, c/o Chadwick Funeral Service, and proceeds will be donated to those she cared about in financial need.
