Americo P.'s Story

Americo "Pat" Plantamura, 95, a life-long resident of Lawrence, Mass., passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 19, 2017. He was born in 1921 and educated in the Lawrence school system. Pat served in the US Army from 1941 to 1945, where he was stationed in Los Angeles, Calif.
He met his wife, Edith Cinquegrana, at Revere Beach in 1946. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage until her death in 2008. He was trained as an electrician and worked at Honeywell as a Quality Control Supervisor until his retirement in 1986.
Pat enjoyed gardening, his tomatoes were the best ever; playing cards with family and friends; traveling, whether it was many road trips or visits to Italy; and photography, as he always had a camera in his hands. He was an avid square dancer, Red Sox fan, an active parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Pat is survived by his daughter, Dianne and her husband, Larry of Groveland, Mass.; daughter, Mary of Tewksbury, Mass.; and son, Paul and his wife, Judy of Methuen. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Nicola; grandson, Kyle, of Groveland; brother, Frank and his wife, Doris of Methuen; his beloved dog, Billy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Edith; his beloved brothers, Joseph of West Long Branch, N.J., and Arthur of Morristown, N.J.; his beloved sisters, Cecilia of Lawrence, Rose of Methuen, and Sr. Frances Michael of Albany, N.Y.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours Friday, October 27, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
