Ann (Torrisi)'s Story
Ann C. Favreau, 93, of Methuen, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger G. Favreau with whom she shared forty-eight years of marriage.
Ann was born April 28, 1924, in Lawrence, the daughter of the late Matthew and Josephine (Zappala) Torrisi. She grew up in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School. In her youth, she worked in the Lawrence shoe mills sewing shoes. Ann was later employed as a telephone operator with AT&T for over 20 years before her retirement. She was a strong woman who was dedicated to her family. She was selfless and devoted in caring for her family, most notably for her sister when they were young and then for her husband in the later years of his life.
After retirement, Ann volunteered with C.L.A.S.S. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing, making her own clothing as well as crafting clothes for others. She was a beautiful soul who will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Ann is survived by three children, Mark and his wife, Ann of Libertyville, Il, Paul of Methuen, and Gregory and his wife Marilyn of North Andover. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Christopher, Adam, Jonathan, Caitlin, Molly, and Benjamin. Ann was predeceased by her sister, Viola Burr. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Phillip Burr of Medfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Ann began attending the Feast of Three Saints in Lawrence when she was a child and continued annual visits to honor the saints. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Ann’s name be made to Saint Alfio Society, 20 Common St., Lawrence, MA 01840. At the family’s request, services will be private.
