Anthony "Gene"'s Story
Anthony “Gene” Frulla , 79, of Walden, Vt., passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017, with his family by his side.
Gene was born in Lee, Mass., on February 1, 1938, to “Tony” and “Carm” Frulla. He attended Saint Mary School, followed by Lee High School. Gene graduated from Springfeld College and earned a Master's in education from State College at North Adams as well as completing advanced graduate study at SUNY, Albany as a Chief School Administrator.
Gene began his educational career in Baltimore County, Md., taught in Lee, Mass., prior to assuming the Otis, Mass. principal/ teacher role. He was elected to administrative positions in Andover, Mass., and taught several college and graduate programs in the area. Gene’s passions included an interest in the out of doors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman as well as a member of related organizations. He thoroughly enjoyed traveling, reading and music.
Gene is survived by his wife, Judith of 58 years as well as his children and grandchildren; sons, Victor Frulla and wife, Jenny of Auburn, N.H., Kurt Frulla and wife, Evelyn of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughters, Michelle Frulla Roy and her fiancé, Elias (Lee) Apostolou of Kingston, N.H., Toni Frulla Wolfenden and her husband, Bill of North Andover, Mass., Heather Frulla Takesian and her husband, Paul of North Andover, Mass. Gene was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa Frulla Powers of Methuen. His grandchildren include Kristopher Roy, Kurt Frulla Jr., Alexander Roy, Corey Powers, Evan Frulla, Brandon Frulla, Jack Wolfenden, Tara Powers, Ted Wolfenden, Ann Elizabeth Wolfenden, Troy Takesian, Paul (PJ) Takesian, and great-granddaughters, Ayla Roy and Elora Roy.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA.
