Haverhill - Barbara Nancy Pearl, 84, of Haverhill, passed Wed., Aug.14, at Wingate, at Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, Oct. 2, 1934, daughter of the late Raymond and Clara (Killam) Pearl.
Nancy grew up in West Boxford, graduated from Punchard High School, class of 1952, and Becker Junior College, class of 1954. She also attended Northeastern University, graduating in 1972, with a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts, majoring in Sociology.
Nancy worked in the offices of four Federal Agencies in the city of Boston; U.S. research and development Dept. of the Army, General Services Administration, Public Building Service, U.S Department of Labor Employment Training Administrator and Health and Human Serves Food and Drug Administration.
She lived in Haverhill since 1997. Nancy enjoyed many friends and activities at the Citizen Center on Welcome St.
She was active in the First Congregational church for 10 years. When it was sold, she became a member of the First Church of Christ, Bradford, where she was a member until she died. Nancy was active in the West Boxford Grange for several years. She was a supporter of animal rescue organizations.
Her survivors include niece and nephews Jeffrey Douglas Pearl of Edmond, Okla., Wendy Pearl of Beverly, Mass., John Edward Pearl of Newmarket, N.H., and various cousins in Mass., Calif., and Wisc.
Nancy was the sister of the late Jack R. Pearl.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service Tues., Aug. 20, at 11 a.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Nancy and I attended Gardner Morse Grammar School in West Boxford and for the three years I lived there, we were close neighbors. We worked on Girl Scout badges together and took many long bike rides. Lots of good memories of my old friend. I'm so sorry she has passed.
