Barbara A. (Langlois)'s Story
Barbara A. (Langlois) Lund, formerly of Amesbury, Mass. and East Hartford, Conn., passed on peacefully at Avita Assisted Living in Newburyport. A loving wife of nearly 60 years to Thomas P. Lund, who also is a resident at Avita, they enjoyed an amazing life together and had many wonderful memories.
Born in Lawrence, Mass. on April 23, 1937, to parents Leopold and Anna Langlois, her mother, Anna was an amazing, loving, and giving woman, and Barbara continued those blessings to all she met and cared for.
A graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, she soon took a job with the phone company and then married Thomas in 1958 who was enlisted in the Army and they were stationed in San Francisco. Upon discharge from the Army, they returned to New England and lived many years in East Hartford, Conn. where she eventually took a job as a teacher’s aide at a local high school, a job she loved.
A strong and loving mother she was an incredible example to her family. At retirement they returned to the North Shore of Massachusetts and they traveled the world and spent many happy times visiting and doting on their grandchildren.
In addition to Thomas, she is survived by her daughters, Paula and husband, Dan Gray of Nashua, N.H., and Laurie and husband, Robert Cooney of Lunenburg, Mass.; her son, John Lund of Connecticut; six amazing grandchildren; and her brother, William Langlois and wife, Betsy of East Hampstead, N.H.
