Barbara Eleanor (Holmberg) Putnam, 92, died peacefully on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at High Pointe House, in Haverhill. She was born in Pittsfield, MA, married to her late husband George Osgood Putnam.
Family was very important to Barbara. She is survived by four daughters: Deborah Halleran, Mary Pear, Susan MacPhee, Jean Putnam and their husbands, Fred Ursitti, Louis Pear, Stanley MacPhee and Patrick McFadden; grandchildren, Sarah Parsons, David Halleran (Heidi), Michael Ursitti (Jean), Eric Pear (Jamie), Rebecca Pear, Kevin Eknaian (Jessica), Jeffrey Eknaian (Ashley), Andrew MacPhee and Brian MacPhee (Christy); great grandchildren, Franklin, Harrison, Noah, Ryan, Jake, Ethan, Adam, Addison, Olivia, Tyler, William and Avery. She is also lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
A graduate of Fannie Farmer Cooking School, in Boston. Barbara was a homemaker residing in Derry, N.H. until moving to Andover. She was an avid vegetable and flower gardener and a talented baker. While in Derry, NH, she was an active member at Saint Luke’s Methodist Church, and later at West Parish Church, in Andover.
At Barbara’s request, there will be a private burial service in August, followed by a Memorial Service, celebrating her life on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at West Parish Church, 129 Reservation Road, Andover, MA 01810, at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Parish Church in her memory, or High Pointe House, 1548, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA 01830.

Your wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was my wonderful neighbor on Franklin Street and I have many happy memories of Mrs. Putnam's spectacular garden and home baked goodies.
