Barry was extremely racist towards a friend of mine when he was a teacher at Lowell High. He repeatedly called him a terrorist and would accuse him of having family members in the Taliban.

Barry and I taught at the Lowell Latin Lyceum at Lowell High. We shared an intellectual connection. He was knowledgeable and interesting to talk with. He always had the students’ best interest at heart.
