Brenda L. (Townsend) Toczylowski, 64, longtime of Topsfield Road, died Tuesday in the Brigham and Womens Hospital, Boston, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was the wife of the late Edward Toczylowski formerly of Ipswich and wife of the late Arthur Hill formerly of Haverhill, the former owner of Yankee Liquors in Georgetown.
Brenda was born in Lawrence, the daughter of the late John and Claire (Beaulieu) Townsend. She was raised in Andover, was a 1971 graduate of Tewksbury High School and a 1974 graduate of Bryant and Stratton College of Boston.
After marrying Arthur, she settled and raised her family in Boxford. For many of these years she was employed as a bookkeeper at Masconomet Regional High School in Topsfield. Following the death of her husband Arthur she met Edward Toczylowski, married and relocated to her late Ipswich home. For several of these years she was employed as the bookkeeper at the Ascension Memorial Church.
Brenda had many talents. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed puzzles and her family and was said to have lived for her grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Hanks and her husband Noah of Lawrence; two grandchildren, Reese and Hailey Hanks both of Lawrence; two brothers, John Townsend, Jr. and his wife Nancy of ME, Bruce Townsend and his wife Linda of FL; many nephews, nieces and her beloved friends Margie, Mark and Jared Casper all of Georgetown and Candice Monteiro of NH.
Her funeral service will be held 11 am Saturday in the Ascension Memorial Church, 31 County St., Ipswich. Family and friends respectfully welcomed.
