Carole (Smith) Hardacre

Carole (Smith) Hardacre Methuen - Carole J. (Smith) Hardacre, 82, a longtime resident of Methuen, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018, at the Berkeley Nursing Center after a long illness. She was born in Lawrence on July 1, 1935, to the late Paul and Isabel (Beaulieu) Smith.

Carole was raised in North Andover and was a graduate of Johnson High School. She was employed as a telephone operator for many years at New England Telephone. She enjoyed doing puzzles, making crafts, watching TV sports, including the Red Sox and Patriots. She also loved traveling with her husband, Henry.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Berkeley Nursing Center for their kind and compassionate care over the past five years. Also, to the Compassus Hospice team for their wonderful care over the past several months.

Carole was predeceased by her beloved husband, Henry Hardacre, in 2011 after 50 years of marriage.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Theresa Lynch of Methuen and Ann Harnisch of Amesbury; nieces, Kathleen Lynch of Methuen, Mary Ellen Geraghty of Methuen, and Susan Mercier of Amesbury; and her grandnieces, Jennifer Mercier of Amesbury and Lauren Geraghty of Methuen.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, June 15, 2018, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., in Methuen. Funeral services follow in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
