Charles J.'s Story
Charles J. Johnson Sr., 82, passed away surrounded by family, in his home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born December 3, 1934 in Watertown, Ohio. He was the son of the late Herbert and Ethel (Harra) Johnson. Growing up in Ohio He was known as Jake and Johnny. He also resided in New York, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. He has been a resident of Raymond for the past several years.
Charles was a machinist second class in the Navy, where he started writing the love of his life, Lois. He was an MP in San Francisco and Okinawa, Japan; later working numerous years as an electrician. He enjoyed watching game shows and wrestling along with helping his wife at sports events at Raymond High. His sense of humor made many people laugh which will go on forever. But most of all, his family was the light of his life.
Charles is predeceased by his loving wife, Lois (Raycraft) Johnson, as well as his brothers, Richard, C. Ralph, his sister, Inez Skinner. He is survived by his Sister Janice Dilley of Caldwell, Ohio; six children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews and several friends.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 2nd at 10 a.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Kingston, N.H.
