Chris Gioldasis, 84, husband of Rosa (Canavos) Gioldasis, passed away at Steward Holy Family Hospital on July 18, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Athens, Greece, he was the son of the late John and Katerina (Stathopoylos) Gioldasis.
Raised and educated in Greece, he came to the United States in 1972 with his wife and children where he settled in Fayetteville, N.C. He moved his family to Haverhill in 1973, and has lived here for 44 years. Chris was employed at the former Western Electric in North Andover, which became Lucent Technologies as a cable assembler for many years. He was a member of the Holy Apostles Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill. Chris travelled back to Greece many times to visit family and friends. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife, Chris is survived by his children, John Gioldasis of Haverhill, Kathy Kapetanakis and her husband, Dimitrias of Athens, Greece; two brothers, Kostas Gioldasis and George Gioldasis, both of Greece; three grandchildren, Kostantinos Kapetanakis, Christos Kapetanakis and Christopher Gioldasis.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 27, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will be Friday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 156 Winter St., Haverhill. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill.
