Christopher J.'s Story
Christopher J. Shewokis, 51, of Sandown and formerly of Derry, N.H., died on November 4, 2017 in Brentwood, NH. Born in Westfield, Mass., the son of Paul Shewokis and the late Carol (Schenna) Shewokis, he was raised in Enfield, Conn. and attended St. Bernards Grammar School and East Catholic High School, Manchester, Conn., graduating with the Class of 1984. He attended Daniel Webster College and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation and Flight Management.
He first worked in Aviation Management for Executive Flyers Aviation, Inc., Bedford, and for 25 years he was employed at Signature Flight Support, Bedford. Most recently he has been working as the Operations Manager for Rectrix Aerodome, Bedford.
A former member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Derry, he is presently a member of St. Anne’s Parish, Hampstead.
A licensed private pilot, he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, 4-wheeling and dirt biking. An avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and “Trekkie," he enjoyed studying the stars and constellations.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, Suzanne (Stanton) Shewokis and his two daughters, Sarah M. Shewokis and Samantha K. Shewokis, all of Sandown; his father, Paul Shewokis of Enfield, Conn.; a sister and brother-in-law, Kimberly J. and Bernhard Toman of Beulah, Colo.; four nieces and nephews, Christopher, Angela, Valerie and Mandy Toman; a sister-in-law, Diane Grow of Hampstead; three brothers-in-law, Arthur Stanton, Stephen Stanton and Walter Stanton, all of VT; a nephew, Paul Grow and a niece, Kathleen Hall and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Christopher’s Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H. His funeral will begin on Friday, November 10, 2017, from the funeral home at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Anne’s Church, 26 Emerson Ave., Hampstead, N.H. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Sandown.
