NORTH ANDOVER, MA - Claire DeNuccio, 86, of North Andover, died January 11, 2018, at The Meadows in North Andover. She was born in North Andover, Mass., August 14, 1931, to the late Treffle and Leonida (Turgeon) Hamel.
Claire was a graduate from Sacred Heart High School in Lawrence. She worked at Lawrence Maid Footwear where she met her husband, Armand "Duke" DeNuccio. Her second career consisted of her working at Agfa, a computer electronics company. Claire was a quiet and reserved young girl and shy until you got to know her. In her twilight years she developed an outgoing and feisty personality. Her twinkling eyes, a vivid contrast to her serene manner showed that she enjoyed a little fun. Claire moved into Edgewood Retirement Community in 2005. She was a vibrant part of the Edgewood community where she had an active social life playing poker, cribbage, working on puzzles along with participating in many social activities.
Claire was the widow of Armand J. DeNuccio who died in 2005. She is survived by her son, Kevin A. DeNuccio and his wife, Claudia P. DeNuccio; her five grandchildren, Nicole DeNuccio, Kyle DeNuccio, Matthew DeNuccio, Luke DeNuccio, Nicholas McCue, living in California. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Donahue, along with a very large extended family in the North Andover area.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, January 19, 2108, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover, MA.
