Claire H. (Dickie)'s Story
Claire H. (Dickie) Middleton, 93, of Haverhill, passed away Saturday, August 12 at the Baker-Katz Nursing Home after a period of declining health.
Born in Newburyport, she was the daughter of the late, Ralph P. and Lucy (Hope) Dickie. She attended Newburyport public schools and was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1941. After WWII, Mrs. Middleton and her late husband, William relocated to Haverhill to raise their young family. Mrs. Middleton was both a homemaker and career woman. She was employed at the former Western Electric in North Andover. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband. A meticulous dresser, she loved shopping for new outfits.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she was the Widow of William F. Middleton who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her son, William F. Middleton Jr, and his wife Yong Sim, of Haverhill; a daughter; Barbara L. Galarza and her husband, Frank, of Newton, N.H.; four grandchildren, Tiffany Middleton, Michelle Galarza, Matthew Middleton, and Scott Galarza; four great-grandchildren, Maxum Middleton, Elle Galarza, Grayson Galarza, and Mila Middleton; two sisters, Muriel Coffey, of Haverhill, David Dickie of Fort Saint Lucy Fl. and Cassandra Drown, of Nashville, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Ada Ragsdale, Ferolyn Dinsmore, and Ruth Dickie.
Friends and family are respectfully invited to calling hours on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway Haverhill.
