Claire Y.'s Story
Claire Y. Panazuk (nee Rousseau), 99, of Methuen, passed away on October 16, 2017, peacefully at home surrounded by her devoted family.
Claire was born on November 4, 1917, to her hardworking parents, Alfred and Marie (Doucette) Rousseau in Lowell, Mass. After graduating from Lowell High School, where she was a girl officer, with the Class of 1935, she and her sweetheart, Stanley Panazuk, were married in a simple ceremony and settled in Methuen. Claire worked for many years as a quality control supervisor for Raytheon until her retirement. She was known for her fierce independence, being an avid reader, devout Catholic, loved the Boston Red Sox, and she loved to knit and do puzzles. Claire touched many lives in many different circles, she will fondly be remembered, loved and missed.
Claire is survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2009. Claire was also predeceased by her nine siblings. Visitation for Claire will be held Thursday, October 19, 2017, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 19, 2017, 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish-St. Theresa, 22 Plymouth St., Methuen.
