Collette R. (Michaud)'s Story
Collette Rita Donahue, 90, of Methuen, passed away at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on Tuesday, October 3, 2017.
Collette was born on February 1, 1927, the daughter of Leo Michaud and Alice (Cote) Michaud. She was raised in Nashua, N.H. and graduated from Nashua High School. She moved to Lawrence and Methuen upon her marriage to John J. Donahue, Jr., who died in 1978. In her later years Collette became an adventurer and loved vacations aboard windjammer cruises sailing off the coast of Maine, whitewater rafting down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon and several tours in Europe. She was also a sports enthusiast who loved candlepin bowling. Most of all, she enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren. She was always a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Collette will be sadly missed by her five children, John J. Donahue, III and his wife, Peggy of Melrose, Michael J. Donahue and his wife, Lynda of Haverford, Pa., Dr. Paul J. Donahue and his wife, Jennifer of Mount Vernon, N.Y., Mary Ellen Pastacaldi of Methuen, and Susan M. Donahue of Burlington. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Katie, Danny, Brenna, Rory, Sean, Nora, Devin, Michael Pastacaldi and his wife, Lana of Union, N.J. and Dana Pastacaldi and her husband, Shaun Montminy of Methuen and her great-grandchildren, Serena and Andrew. She is survived by her sister, Pauline Michaud of Somerville and was predeceased by her brother, Rene of California. She was employed by the late Dr. Cameron Msumba of Andover and worked for Dr. Anthony Marino of Methuen until her retirement.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Collette’s life by gathering for calling hours at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Sunday, October 8, from 2 – 6 PM. Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Monica’s Church, 212 Lawrence Street, Methuen on Monday, October 9, at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.
