David Lee's Story
Private services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport, for David Lee Ladd, 86, of North Andover, former longtime resident of West Newbury as well as Boxford, who passed Saturday morning, November 25, 2017, at The Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover, with his family at his side.
Born in Bronxville, New York on May 8, 1931, he was the son of the late Thelma R. (Moulton) Ladd and Harry W. Ladd. After receiving a B.A. from the University of New Hampshire, Mr. Ladd served with the United States Air Force from December 27, 1953, until his discharge on January 20, 1956, with the rank of First Lieutenant.
His varied work experiences at Minute Maid in Florida, United Fruit, K & E Advertising and the William Underwood Company, led to his career as President, C.E.O and Chairman of the Board of Wiggins Airways. Since his years in the Air Force, David’s passion for flying never ceased.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Audrey J. (MacDougall) Ladd of North Andover; his son, David M. Ladd of Hanover, Mass.; his daughter, Victoria G. Ladd of Haverhill; two granddaughters and five great-grandchildren; a cousin, Christopher MacGillivary of Bufferton, S.C.; along with extended family, many dear friends, and his dearest beloved dog, Wiggy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Holly D. Ladd.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to MSPCA, Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
The Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, were in charge of arrangements.
