BRADFORD, MA - David Sandy Lemieux, age 64, of Bradford, Mass., died at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston, on January 31, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Buffalo, New York, on October 25, 1953, one of four children of the late Joseph S. and Arlene (Roy) Lemieux, he had worked at Foss Manufacturing, Hampton N.H., for many years, and also part-time at O' Reilly's Auto Parts, in Haverhill.
David enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and going to the gun range. He loved spending time at the Crescent Yacht Club with some of his dearest friends. He also loved nature and being outdoors. He crafted birdhouses and other unique gifts for family and friends. He received great satisfaction working with Patricia Dennehy at the Community Action Center in Haverhill, providing for the homeless in the area.
David is survived by his longtime companion of 28 years, Sandra Schroeder; his daughter, Cheri M. Comeau, and her longtime companion, Jim Griffin of Merrimac, Mass.; his granddaughters, Cadrin Comeau, and Kendra Griffin; sister, Susan Farrell, and husband, Mark, of Epping, N.H.; nephews, Shawn Lemieux, Thomas Lemieux, Richard Lemieux Jr., and Scott Schrempf; a niece, Ashley Lemieux McVay; a sister-in-law, Melinda Harris Lemieux; along with extended family members, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Lemieux, who died the day before him, on January 30, 2018, his sister, Deborah Schrempf, and his nephew, Jason John Farrell.
By his specific request, funeral services are private. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home at Monument Square, 334 Main Street, Haverhill. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
