David Lessard, 83, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Penacook Place.
He was born in Haverhill on March 28, 1934, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Whittaker) Lessard.
David was a graduate of Haverhill High School with the class of 1953 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1953-1957 receiving the National Defense Medal.
He was employed at the former Haverhill Paperboard for over 42 years retiring in 1999. David enjoyed sports and was the Haverhill pool city champ.
He was the husband of the late Beverly (Dinsmore) Lessard and father of the late Linda Graham and Dorothy “Dottie” Lessard Brownsberger.
David is survived by his brother, James Lessard of Salem, N.H.; sister, Rosemary Silva of Bradford; his two sons-in-law, Scott Graham and Ben Brownsberger; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Thursday, Oct. 5th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral will be on Friday, Oct. 6th beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St., Bradford. Interment with Naval honors will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., Unit 104, Natick, MA 01760.
