Dean James Toulas, 71, of Boscawen, N.H., died after a long illness on Saturday morning, August 26, 2017, at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Facility in Hanover, N.H. He was the widower of Judith Griffith Toulas.
Dean was born in Reading, Pa., on August 9, 1946, the son of James and Effie Toulas.
Dean attended Butera School of Art in Boston and for many years worked as a commercial artist at the Brodeur Group where he rose to the position of Vice President and Art Director. Dean will be remembered by his friends and family as a stoic person with a sharp sense of humor and a hearty laugh. He battled hemophilia all his life and for the last two years suffered with severe diabetes and dialysis treatments.
Dean was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Judy. He is survived by his fiancée, Lynn Davis; his aunt, Liberty Tatarow of Haverhill, Mass.; and cousins, Dorothy and husband, Sam Abram of Barrington, R.I., Thalia Tsongas Schlessinger of Boston, and Anthony and wife, Cynthia Pappas of Block Island, R.I.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hemophilia Association, Dedham, Mass.
Dean’s life will be remembered on September 9 at 1 p.m. at Roma’s Restaurant in Bradford, Mass., with the sharing of memories.
