Deborah A.'s Story
North Conway - Debora A. (Zuccarello) Fitzpatrick, aged 59, passed away surrounded by family and friends at a beautiful beach house on the cliffs of York, Maine, on Tuesday, May 9, 2018, after a courageous 18-month battle with cancer. Deb was born September 24, 1958, in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of Carol Santacrose and Anthony Zuccarello. She graduated from Lawrence High School and attended Fitchburg State College on a track scholarship.
In 1998 Deb met Dan; they moved to North Conway, N.H., in 2000, and were married in 2002. Deb made a happy home and loving life for her and Dan. The concept of the "Charity Breakfasts" at the Masonic Lodge Hall in North Conway Village was Deb's idea and for nearly ten years she oversaw the entire operation. She was very proud of the good that came from the Charity Breakfasts and very sad when it had to end. Deb loved gardening, making her home beautiful and throwing lavish dinner parties. She most recently worked as the prep cook and pastry chef at the Red Parka Steak House in Glen, N.H.
Deb is survived by her loving husband Dan Fitzpatrick of North Conway, N.H.; daughter Kristin and her husband Roy Ruiz of Fredericksburg, Va.; daughter Lindsey Gereau of Glen, N.H.; brother Thomas Zuccarello of Londonderry, N.H.; brother Joseph Zuccarello of Lawrence, Mass.; step-children Charles Fitzpatrick of Salisbury, Mass., and Anna Louise Fitzpatrick of Haverhill, Mass.; step-mother Joellen Zuccarello of Methuen, Mass.; and six grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Carol and Anthony; her step-father Jerry Santacrose; and her step-daughter McKenzie E. Fitzpatrick.
A funeral service will be held at Bartlett Congregational Church, Bear Notch Road, Bartlett, N.H., on Saturday, May 19, at 10 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at the Red Parka Steak House in Glen, N.H. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deb's name to Jen's Friends Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 1842, North Conway, NH 03860, 603-356-5083, email@example.com.
