EAST HAMPSTEAD, NH - Donald E. Field, 85, of East Hampstead, N.H., passed away on Friday March 9, 2018, at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, N.H. Mr. Field was born, raised, and educated in Lawrence and was a 1950 graduate of Lawrence High School. He lived in N. Andover before moving to E. Hampstead. Donald worked as a corrections officer for the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, and retired in 1983. He enjoyed helping his son, Ken, at Al's Diner in Lawrence and also loved helping his son, David, with his plumbing business, and was always there to help his daughter, Shirley, in any way that he could. He was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, N. Andover. He enjoyed playing 45s with friends and especially loved being with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His family members include his wife, May E. (Zuill) Field of E. Hampstead and his children, Shirley and her husband, Kenneth Perry of E. Hampstead, Kenneth and his wife, Robin Field of Atkinson, N.H., and David and his wife, Sharon of E. Hampstead. He also leaves his grandchildren, Eric Klier and Heather McCann, Joshua Field, Jennifer Matthews, Lisa Murphy and Kristen Gaines; as well as five great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Don also leaves his beloved dog, Dante.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Thursday, March 15, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Dewhirst & Boles Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Methuen.
