Hampstead, NH - Donald R. Demers, 82 of Hampstead, NH, died peacefully Thursday at his home with his family by his side.
Don was born in Lawrence, to Earl and Lida (Bonneau) Demers. He grew up and was educated in Salem, NH, where he graduated from Woodbury High School and was a resident of Salem for 42 years. He then moved to Hampstead, where he lived for 40 years.
Don retired from Key Tech in Lowell, MA as an electrical wireman. He had also worked for High Voltage Engineering. He enjoyed NASCAR, horse and dog racing, coin collecting, playing cards, and his music collection. He enjoyed wintering in Florida, flea markets and yard sales, but most of all Don was a family man, and loved being with them.
Don was predeceased by his brothers, Ted and Robert Demers.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Caroline (Blatchford) Demers of Hampstead, NH, children, Donna and her husband, Greg Hassard of Danville, NH, Karen and her husband, Alan Hartley, and Kelly and his wife, Sandra Demers of Salem, NH, brother, Carl Demers of Londonderry, NH, sister-in-law and special friend, Fran Bourdelais of Salem, NH, grandchildren, Rebecca, Brian, Amy, Christina, Danielle, and Desiree; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Addyson, Nolan, Michael Jr., and Gavin, several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held Monday, July 22nd from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, NH. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, N.H.
