Dorothy's Story

METHUEN - Dorothy T. (Becotte) Lane, 88, wife of Edward F. Lane, married 65 years, passed away at her home February 2, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Amanda (Lamontagne) Becotte. Raised and educated in Methuen, she attended St. Theresa Grammar School, and was a graduate of St. Theresa High School, class of 1948. Dorothy worked at A.B. Sutherland Clothing, in Lawrence, as an administrator. She was known for her great cooking, especially her turkey dinners. Holidays were very special to Dorothy, enjoying having her family and friends near. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Ed, but got her most enjoyment out of spending summers at Seabrook Beach. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children, Kathleen M. Ricciardi, of Holden, Mass.; Brian E. Lane, and his wife, Patricia, of Houston, Texas; Kevin L. Lane, and his wife, Nancy, of Methuen; Dr. Leo W. Lane, and his wife, Holly, of Methuen; seven grandchildren, Daniel Ricciardi, Michael Ricciardi, Robert Lane, William Lane, Thomas Lane, Matthew Lane, Kaleigh Lane; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Ricciardi, and Eleanor Ricciardi; several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Dr. Paul A. Ricciardi.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main Street, Haverhill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Theresa's Church, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, February 6. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 80 Corbett Street, Andover. Donations may be made in Dorothy's memory to Our Lady of Good Council Parish, 22 Plymouth Street, Methuen, MA 01844.
