West Yarmouth - Eileen M. (Carroll) Hughes, age 81 of West Yarmouth passed away peacefully on May 13, 2019 at the High Pointe Hospice House. Eileen was born in Malden on November 19, 1937. She was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Class of 1954 and a graduate of Merrimack College. Eileen was a former administrative assistant for many years at Bon Secours Hospital. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Club. Eileen was a former communicant of St. Patrick's Parish of Lawrence and a former communicant of St. Pius X of South Yarmouth. She enjoyed reading, animals, trips to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eileen was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Hughes. She was the devoted mother of Colleen Chartier and her husband Steven Sr., Karen Yelle, Shaun Yelle and his wife Joanne, and Kerry Yelle and his wife Diane. Eileen was the dear sister of Veronica Deleo, Ann Pope, Evie Leary, Walter Lauinger, and Mel Girlack. She was the loving grandmother of 11 and the cherished great-grandmother of 8. Eileen is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and guests are invited to call on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Monica's Parish of Methuen. Interment to follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Lawrence. Memorial contributions in Eileen's honor may be made to MSPCA Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway Methuen, MA 01844.
