LAWRENCE- Eileen M. Currier age 91 entered heavens gates on Friday, December 29, 2017, while in the loving care of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. Eileen suffered from Alzheimer's Disease for many years. For the past four years, the staff in her unit cared for and loved her as if she were the only patient in their care.
Eileen was born in Exeter, N.H. on February 6, 1926 to Peter and Julia Myers. Eileen was predeceased by her husband, and love of her life, Fred A. Currier. She was also predeceased by her brother Victor Myers, sisters, Esther Cote and Doris Faucher.
Eileen became a widow at the young age of 61 after caring for her husband until his death in 1986; With her tremendous inner-strength, she persevered to live a wonderful life. Eileen traveled with friends and family to several places inside and outside of the country.
Eileen was loved by all who knew her. She was such a gift to our whole family as well. Eileen passion was to give her time and love to anyone, family and friends. She had a heart of gold and was so generous with her time and giving heart caring for others in so many ways.
Eileen cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren so very much, asking nothing but to be part of their lives.
Eileen is survived by her son, Stephen Currier and his wife, Clara, her daughter, Cheryl Contarino and husband, Ron;, by her sister Shirley Byron and her husband Al; her grandchildren, Aaron Currier and his wife, Erin, Daniel Currier, and Jessica Sharpe and her husband, Robert , step-grandson, Ronald Contarino and his wife, Kelley, great-grandchildren, Michael Currier, Kaileigh Currier, Emma Currier, Braiedon Currier, Gavin Currier, Julia Sharpe, Robert Sharpe III, and Paul Contarino and Mia Contarino, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 3, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home at 233 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 4, 2018 followed by her entombment at St. Mary's Mausoleum in Lawrence, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Unit of Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence.
