Eileen K. Havey, 90, a longtime Methuen, resident passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at Blaire House in Tewksbury.
Eileen was born in Lawrence, daughter of the late, Samuel Kalil and Cecilia (Assaf) Kalil. She was educated at the former Hood School in Lawrence and was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1944. Eileen was a lifelong parishioner of St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence and the Daughters of St. Anthony. She was a former volunteer at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. She retired after 25 years of service as a Tax Examiner at the IRS. Her family recalls her love of reading and great love and dedication to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eileen was the widow of George F. Havey, Jr. with whom she shared 34 years of marriage. She is survived by her sons, George F. Havey, III and his wife, Barbara of Hampstead, and children, Amy (Sigillo) Parkas wife of Paul Parkas of Bay Shore, N.Y., Daniel Havey and his wife, Kelly (Hannagan) Havey of Danville, N.H. and Donald Sigillo and his wife, Becky (McQuillan) Sigillo of Hampstead; son, Methuen Police Sgt. Michael J. Havey, Sr. and his partner, Michelle McPeek of Methuen and his children, Kristen Havey of N. Andover; Methuen Patrolman Michael J. Havey, Jr. of Haverhill and Emily Havey of N. Andover; daughters, Cecilia Atkinson, wife of Steven Tatarunis of Methuen and their son, Scott Atkinson and his wife, Jill (Skandier) of Pelham, Cheryl Torres, wife of James E. Torres of Methuen and their children, Alyssa (Torres) Gowing, wife of Alexandre Gowing of Somerville; James M. Torres of Methuen and Brittany Torres of Malden. In addition, she is also survived by six great-grandchildren and sisters, Virginia Mackool of California, Jeannette Vincent of Haverhill; Beatrice Ameen of N. Andover and Shirley LaPointe of Methuen. Eileen was predeceased by her brothers, Wallace Kalil and Walter Kalil, Sr. and godson, Walter Kalil, Jr.
A funeral Mass will be offered Monday, Nov. 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Maronite Church in Lawrence. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen. Friends may call Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Farrah Funeral Home, 133 Lawrence St., Lawrence, MA 01841.
