Elena (Spaziante)'s Story
Elena A. (Spaziante) Ganem, 86, of Methuen, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the Methuen Village. She was born in Worcester and was the daughter of the late Frank and Filomena (Vigliotti) Spaziante.
Elena was raised in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service where she worked as a tax examiner. She and her husband organized and oversaw many senior cabarets, trips to Foxwoods, and numerous fundraising events for the center, which earned them the Distinguished Service for Senior Award.
Elena was predeceased by her husband, Albert G. Ganem, Sr. and her siblings, Albert and Anthony Spaziante, and Maria Sacco.
Elena is survived by her daughter, Gail F. Ganem of Methuen; her son, Albert G. Ganem, Jr. and his wife, Lynda of Worcester and their three children, Albert III, Sarah, and Samuel. She is also survived by her siblings, Frank and Ann Spaziante, and many nieces and nephews. Elena's grandchildren were the "light of her life" and she enjoyed every moment with them.
