Elizabeth "Betty"'s Story
Elizabeth “Betty” M. Moran, 81 of Windham, N.H., passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017, surrounded by her four daughters. She was born in Everett, Mass., daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Mietzner) Cooke and loving wife of the late William B. Moran.
Mrs. Moran was very involved with the General Federation of Women’s Club and past president of the Salem Chapter. She volunteered in the Salem School System when her daughters were in school. Mrs. Moran was greatly beloved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, going to craft fairs and summering on Lake Winnipesaukee. She is survived by her daughters, Terri Moran of Windham, Lorraine Lavoie and her husband, Mark of Methuen, Mass., Kathi French and her husband, Steven of Strafford, N.H., and Patti Moran-Rainville and Paul Coon of Salem. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Matthew French and his fiancé, Sadie Martel, Amanda French, Brooke Lavoie and her fiancé, Marcello Auriti, Jason Lavoie and John Rainville, Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Ava, Carter and Harper French; and by her brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Annette Cooke of Salem. She was predeceased by her three brothers, Thomas, John and Robert Cooke.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, December 3, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem.
Friends and family may gather at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
