Hampstead, NH - Elizabeth Ann Gallagher, 77, of Hampstead, N.H., passed away at her residence after a period of declining health. She was born July 7, 1941, in Everett, Mass., a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Keating) Homer. She was a long-time resident of Lawrence, Mass., until retiring to Hampstead, N.H., in 2000.
Elizabeth was employed for many years for the Town of North Andover and the Town of Chelmsford, Mass., where she retired from her professional life to care for the grandchildren. She enjoyed travel and beach life, listening to the waves crash on Myrtle Beach, or any beach for that matter. She also loved planning these trips and capturing the memories into her amazing photo scrapbooks. She loved music, reading, crafts and knitting. Doing puzzles and playing scrabble and other games with her husband and the kids Elizabeth dedicated her life to her family and friends, she was selfless and ready to help anyone at any time. Her smile would light up a room.
Members of the family include her loving husband of 56 years, James J. “Jim” Gallagher; two children and their spouses, Kathleen and Brian Dingman, and James W. and Kristine Gallagher; her five grandchildren, James Peter Gallagher and Thomas Gallagher, Jack, Cody, and Brianna Dingman; three siblings, William and John Homer and Laura McKenna; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elizabeth was predeceased by her sisters, Ellen McIntyre and Nancy Daigle.
After cremation, a memorial visitation will be held Saturday, February 23, 2019, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH, with a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. #9 Lawrence, MA 01843, would be appreciated.
