Evelyn E.'s Story
Evelyn E. (Cormier) Xenakis passed away peacefully at the age of 90 in her Warner home surrounded by members of her loving family. Evelyn was born in Haverhill, Mass., on December 2, 1926, to the late Elide and Lydia (Parenteau) Cormier and was sister to the late Aurore (Cormier) Langlais. She married Perry Xenakis in 1947, and remained happily married until his passing in 1996. A longtime resident of Plaistow, N.H., Evelyn spent many years working as a dental receptionist for Dr. Birdsall's office.
Evelyn loved the beach and spent many happy summers in Wells, Maine. She loved all animals, playing cards, cooking, crocheting and was affectionately known as Yia Yia to her grandchildren.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Alan Xenakis and wife, Audra of Texas, Randall Xenakis and wife, Patricia of Florida, Pamela (Xenakis) Wilkins and husband, Scott of Sandown, N.H., Mark Xenakis and wife, Susan of Warner, N.H.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours and private services will be held at the Maplewood North Parish Cemetery in Plaistow, N.H.
