Frances C.'s Story
Frances Garofalo, 83, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2017.
Born in Lawrence, Mass., she was the daughter of Edward and Alice (LaRivee) Hewitt. Frances graduated from Lawrence High School in 1952. Following graduation, she was employed as a dental assistant and later by Methuen Public Schools as a teacher’s aide for several years. She enjoyed writing children’s stories and was once published in the Catholic Digest.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Vincent Garofalo, Sr. of Englewood, Fla. and Winnisquam, N.H.; children, Alice (Garofalo) Hyatt, Ross Garofalo and his wife, Patricia, Vincent Garofalo, Jr. and his wife, Dawna; grandchildren, Marisa (Carney) Delhay and her husband, Evan, Lisa (Carney) Koehler and her husband, AJ, Annie, Jane, and Sophia Garofalo; great-grandchildren, Owen and Liam Delhay, and Norah Koehler; sister, Rita Hewitt; brothers, Michael Hewitt and his wife, Rita, and Patrick Hewitt. She was predeceased by brothers, Edward, William and Thomas Hewitt; and sister, Theresa (Hewitt) Curtin.
Frances was beloved by all who knew her.
