Frank Shih-Huang Chen, 67, passed away peacefully, and surrounded by family ,on January 18, 2018, at his residence in Andover, Mass. Complications from pancreatic cancer were the cause of death.
He was born on February 17, 1950, in Tainan, Taiwan. He was the son of the late Mao Tien Chen and late Chin Mien (Hu) Chen.
He retired in 2008 after serving as Vice President of Engineering for a series of pioneering tech companies, including Cascade Communications, Ascend Communications, Lucent Technologies, and Airvana, Inc.
Mr. Chen is survived by his wife of nearly 42 years, Jennifer (Chiu) Chen of Andover; son, Daniel Frankson Chen, also of Andover; and daughter, Julie Y. Chen, of Brooklyn, N.Y. He is also survived by his brother, Alan Chen, of Taipei, Taiwan; sister, Pi Tran Chen, of Tainan, Taiwan; and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a wake and memorial service to celebrate the life of Frank S. Chen. The wake will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen, MA. A memorial service will be held the following day, February 3, at 10:30 a.m. at Free Christian Church, 31 Elm Street, Andover.
