Frank E. Phillips, 91, of Georgetown, passed peacefully on November 29, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving sons, Mark and Brent. Born in Georgetown, Mass., to Frank and Elizabeth (Morse) Phillips, he attended elementary school in Georgetown, and graduated trade school for aviation maintenance in Boston, Mass., before entering the Navy in 1944. In the Navy he attended and graduated from the Navy's Aviation Electronics School in Jacksonville, Fla., and became an Aviation Electronic Specialist, serving during WWII in 1945 before being honorably discharged in 1946. Upon his discharge from the Navy, Frank worked for the Sheridan Company that later became Harris Graphics, traveling throughout the country and overseas installing and servicing book binding machinery, until his retirement in 1990. Frank also traveled throughout the country taking annual trips with his wife, Peggy, and their son, Mark, seeing many notable landmarks, parks, gardens and museums throughout the years. He also enjoyed annual trips to Florida, walking the beaches with Peggy and the many friends they met there. Frank and Peggy loved taking vacations to such places as Hawaii, Aruba, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and Switzerland. Frank was beloved by all his family members, as well as his many friends and neighbors who knew him as a very thoughtful, kind and caring man. Frank was a very devoted and loving husband to Peggy, and father to their sons. He will be greatly missed by all. Frank was the loving husband to the late Margaret L. (Mello) Phillips and is survived by his three sons, Mark, Denis and Brent, as well as his two grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the Phillips Family on Friday, December 8, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown.
