Gaitano "Tony"'s Story
Gaitano (Tony) Medolo, son of the late Joseph and Frances (Musemeci) Medolo. He was predeceased by brothers, Paul V. Medolo and Salvatore F. Medolo. Tony was born in North Andover and lived most of his life in North Andover and Andover. He was a graduate of Punchard High School, Andover, Mass. He was married December 10, 1950, to his loving and devoted wife, Laura (Mangano) Medolo.
Tony was a 23-year Navy Seabee veteran and was very patriotic, serving his country proudly. Tony's career within the building trades included farming, painting, carpentry, and electric. He worked for Mangano Plumbing and Heating Co. and received his plumbing license. Tony was employed for 20 years by Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent, and 13 years with Northern Essex Community College. His work was greatly appreciated by his customers, friends, and family. Tony was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was extremely sociable and truly cared about others.
Tony loved traveling and had a special place in his heart for the ocean. He enjoyed activities including trips to the beach or the mountains, baking homemade pizza, scuba diving and being an avid sportsman. He loved home town teams, and supported the North Andover athletics. He was also a huge fan of the New England Patriots.
Tony always said, "Family First." Tony is survived by his wife, Laura (Mangano) Medolo. Tony is also survived by his children, son, Paul and his wife, Corrine Medolo of North Andover, Mass.; daughter, Jean and her husband, Jeff Foote of Warner, N.H.; daughter, Frances and her husband, David Cloonan of North Andover, Mass.; daughter, Mary and her husband, Robert Stowers of North Andover, Mass.; daughter, Joan Medolo of North Andover, Mass.; and also his brother, Joseph Medolo and his wife, Irene; sisters-in-law, Laura Mangano and Marylin Mangano.
Tony's grandchildren include Jessica Foote and her husband, TJ Romano of Portland, Ore., Vanessa Foote and her husband, Michael Ferreira of Newburyport, Mass., Collin Foote and his wife, Faith of Monterey, Calif., David Cloonan Jr. and his wife Jessica of Glenside, PA; Matthew McComish and his wife, Rhiannon of Asheville, N.C., Laura McComish and partner, Jon of Boston, Mass., Christopher Medolo of North Andover, Mass., Kyle Medolo and his partner, Kathryn of Boston, Mass., and Alexander Cloonan of North Andover, Mass. His great-grandchildren include Estella, Carina, and Sylvia Romano, Miles and August Ferreira, Esther Cloonan, Tucker Jiho Foote, and many nephews and nieces.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third Street, North Andover, MA 01845. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, North Andover.
