LAWRENCE- Helen (Filli) Anderton, 92, of Lawrence, former longtime resident of Methuen, passed away at Mary Immaculate Nursing & Restoration Center on February 8, 2018.
Daughter of the late Anthony and Carmella (Lanzafame) Filli, she was born on January 20, 1926 in Methuen. Helen was the devoted wife, mother and aunt to her family. She was a member of the Gospel Hall Church in Methuen, loved knitting, playing cards, and worked at The Den for many years. Helen touched many lives in many different circles and will fondly be loved cherished and missed.
Helen is survived by her beloved son, Robert W. Anderton of Leominster, her sister Anna Siracusa and her husband, Frank of Methuen, and her step-daughter, Ruth Ann Trembley, of Atkinson, NH. She was the proud aunt to Daniel Di Bella, Carol Russeau, Carlene Godwin, Donald Smeriglio, Carmelina Cuozzo, and Ann Marie Hebert and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Anderton and her siblings, Angelina Mason, Phyllis Di Bella, Constance Smeriglio, and Robert Filli.
Visitation for Helen will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend. A funeral service held be at the conclusion of calling hours at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 110 N. Lowell Street, Methuen.
