BOXFORD, MA. - Henry Chub, 88, of Boxford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 25th at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
Henry was born in Manhattan, NY to the late Ignatz and Justina (Kuzzol ) Chub. Mr. Chub graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y. in 1951 and then went on to proudly serve his country with the U.S. Navy on the USS Taconic and USS Sarasota after graduation. Henry was an Aircraft Engineer at General Electric in Lynn for many years until his retirement in 1990. He performed charity work collecting donations for H.O.M.E. Co-Op in Orland, ME. During his spare time, Henry could also be found reading, tinkering in the garage or woodworking. He was an avid gun enthusiast and was a longtime member of the Boxford American Legion, James L. Melvin Post, 379.
Henry was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Poulin) Chub with whom he shared 49 years of marriage and is survived by his children, Marina Chub and her partner Keith of North Andover, Thomas Chub and his wife, Jeanne of Topsfield, Peter Chub and his wife, Amie of Virginia Beach and David Chub of Danvers, his grandchildren, Christina, Thomas, Olivia, Tyler and Julia as well as his nephew, Michael Chub of Winders, Ga. Mr. Chub was predeceased by his son, Henry L. Chub.
Family and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, January 30th at 11 a.m. in the Conte - Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant Street, Georgetown. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Village Cemetery, Boxford. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
