Irene (Dube)'s Story
LAWRENCE - Irene (Dube) Shwetz, 106, of Lawrence, formerly of Andover, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Mary Immaculate Nursing Home. Born in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Elmira Dube.
Mrs. Shwetz was one of nine children. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, and lived in Andover for the greater part of her life. She worked in area mills, and then later worked for many years in sales at Clayton's Dress Shop in Lawrence. Irene and her husband loved to travel, visiting most of the U.S. including Hawaii. They toured many countries in Europe as well as Egypt and Morocco.
Besides her siblings, she was predeceased by her husband, Patrick Shwetz.
Mrs. Shwetz is survived by her son, Ronald Shwetz of Groveland; grandchildren, Mark Shwetz and his wife Christy of Maryland, and Michelle Smith and her husband Stephen of Georgetown; and her great-grandchildren, Spencer Shwetz, Connor, Dillon and Cassandra Smith.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
