METHUEN, MA - James W. Casey, 83, of Methuen, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 7, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Lawrence on December 25, 1934, he was the son of the late John J. and Mary T. (McCarthy) Casey.
He attended Lawrence schools, and graduated from Central Catholic in 1953, and would later earn a bachelor's degree from Marist College. James was employed as a security analyst with the IRS in Andover, and retired in 1989 with over 30 years of service. He was then hired by the NESC Federal Credit where he remained for 17 years, until retiring in 2007. He was recognized in his profession for outstanding service and was the Vice Chairman of Heritage Height Association.
James was a member of the Federal Retiree Association, and the A.S.R.A. He was dedicated to working with his church community at Saint Lucy Parish, in Methuen, and was a man of deep faith who enjoyed his life. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Riley; and brothers, Cornelius (Neil) Casey and John Raymond Casey.
James is survived by his brothers, Andrew J. Casey, of Merritt Island, Fla., and his twin brother, Joseph Casey, of Woodbridge, Va. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends, including longtime friend, Sean Dugan.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours, Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Lucy Parish, 254 Merrimack St., Methuen. Burial will take place at Saint Mary-Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
