James E.'s Story
James E. Madigan, 60, of Pelham, N.H., died Tuesday at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he grew up and was educated, and graduated from Archbishop Stepinac High School. He later received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island. He was a resident of Pelham for the past year, formerly of Windham, where he lived for 19 years.
Jim was the director of quality control for Metal Crafters in Methuen. He was a former longtime coach for Salem Rams Football. Jim loved the outdoors, hiking, and boating, but Jim’s passion was skiing at Killington Mountain in Vermont. He even built his own home there from the ground up. He was also a five-time Ironman Tri-Athlete.
Jim was the son of the late Donald E. and Marie (Aiello) Madigan.
He is survived by his wife, Karen (Beatrice) Madigan of Pelham, N.H.; son, Brent and his wife, Bethany Madigan of Windham, N.H.; stepdaughter, Jessica Madigan of Windham, N.H.; sister, Patricia and her husband, Richard Montague of South Yarmouth, Mass.; nieces, Jennifer and Courtney Montague.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a celebration of Jim’s life at 7 p.m. at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd., Windham, NH.
