LAWRENCE - James "Jimmy" F. Sheehy, age 66, of Lawrence, passed away at his home after a courageous battle with an illness on December 11, 2017. A lifelong resident of Lawrence, he was the beloved son of Frances (Sullivan) Sheehy and the late John A. Sheehy. Jimmy was a graduate of Merrimack College where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. He was employed as a System Analyst for Dynamics Research Corporation in Andover for over 25 years prior to his recent retirement. Jimmy was intellectually curious throughout his lifetime. He was an avid reader especially in the fields of science and history. He was an excellent athlete and had a passion for fitness. Jimmy was an exceptional racquetball player and was well known at the Cedardale Health and Fitness Club in Haverhill where he competed in numerous racquetball tournaments. Perhaps most especially what characterized Jimmy's life was his love of and dedication to his family and the compassion and kindness that he extended to friends in times of need.
