Janet M (Perkins) Reagan, 75, formerly of East Kingston, N.H., died in Portsmouth after a brief illness. She was born December 14, 1941, in Amesbury, Mass. She was the daughter of the late Mary F. (Fairbanks) and Melvin J. Perkins Sr. and wife of the late Robert R. Reagan Sr.
Janet grew up in Amesbury and was a graduate of Amesbury High School. She worked for the United States Postal Service until her retirement, then worked part-time for Foss Motors of Exeter, N.H. She was formerly of Newton Junction, N.H., and resided for a short time in Exeter, N.H.
Janet was one of the first female volunteer firefighters in the state of New Hampshire, as well as an EMT with the East Kingston Fire Department. For several years, she and her late husband, Robert R Reagan, Sr., traveled the country in their motorhome, spending several winters in Yuma, Ariz. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, wood carving, and making jewelry and beading.
She is survived by her children; sons, Robert R. Reagan Jr. of Deerfield, N.H., Mark H. and Randy T. Reagan of East Kingston, N.H., and daughter, Mary F. Reagan-Healey of Wildwood, Fla.; as well as her brother, Melvin J. Perkins Jr. of Freemont, N.H. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Janet was predeceased by her brother, William Minichiello, and sisters, Pamela McCarthy and Robin McIntyre.
Memorial visitation will be on Thursday, November 2, 2017, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., Exeter, NH. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St., Exeter, NH.
A gathering for friends and family will follow at 33 Sanborn Road, East Kingston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the East Kingston Fire Association, P.O. Box 64, East Kingston, NH 03827.
