An open letter to my Mom,

The most important part of this note is to let you know that it will be impossible for anyone to forget you (yes I chuckled when I wrote that) and though we had our rough patches, our time over the last few years have been warm and caring. Your lessons were "interesting" and although we didn't always agree, we would find our way back to each other. A few short days before your joining Dad in Heaven we ended our conversation with "I love you." Nothing was left unsaid, not a single issue between us...that is a good thing and I am grateful for that.

Mom, I am saddened that I was not at your funeral service but I was not told by anyone in my family any of the detail
...s and only found out by accident and after the fact. The omission of the obituary from the newspapers or funeral home website until the service was finished kept not only me, but also any of your friends from paying their respects and saying their goodbyes. Although, yet again, they were not mentioned in the obituary Mom, I thank you for always asking about my son Brandon and Tammy, my wife of 20 will not be forgotten and yes you were right about "family".

As you'll recall during our previous conversations we talked about why I was not at Dad's funeral; the initial date in which I had planned to attend with Tammy and Brandon was changed to accommodate one member of the family and a sporting event. Sadly the new date selected was the date of my daughter's high school graduation and with Dad as a wonderful educator I knew he would understand. I know not everyone understood or accepted that choice but I still feel it was the right one.

So I bid you a goodbye and I know you are enjoying the perfection of Heaven and free from the mischievous coils of earth. Mom your advice was sound, "Let God take care of it."

Rest in peace and enjoy the blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Your Son,

Buzz Normandy

So sorry for your loss. I would often stop and chat with your Mom while walking my dogs, she got so much joy just sitting and talking and patting my pups. I will miss our little visits. God Bless
