John F. Lord, 83, of Haverhill, Mass., died Tuesday, Aug. 29, at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, Mass.
John was born in Ipswich, Mass., where he grew up and was educated. He was a longtime resident of Haverhill, Mass., and Danville, N.H.
John worked for Action Auto Parts and Sanel Auto Parts. He was a US Army veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post in Haverhill, Mass., and the former Good Sam Club. He loved camping, golfing, woodworking, and playing cards. Most of all John loved spending time with his family.
He was the son of the late Arthur Gordon and Ruth (Bowen) Lord. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Kenneth, Paul, and Dean Lord; and his daughter-in-law, Faith Lord.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine R. (Beauregard) Lord of Haverhill, Mass.; children, David Lord and his girlfriend, Joanne Letendre of Spencer, Mass., Cindy M. Sheppard of Richmond, Va., Karen and her husband, Gary Montminy of Haverhill, Mass., Kevin Lord and his girlfriend, Lori DiCenzo of Londonderry, N.H., Brenda and her husband, Thomas McCarron of Jupiter, Fla., Holly and her husband, Mark Lord-Paquin of Raymond, N.H., Barry and his wife, Brenda Jennings of Haverhill, Mass., Lisa and her husband, Joseph Wyatt of Atkinson, N.H., Kim Jennings of Lynn, Mass., and Karen Jennings of Augusta, Maine; brother, Bruce and his wife, Linda Lord of Bellingham, Mass.; 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 Noon, followed by a memorial service at 12 Noon at the Carrier Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH.
