John J. "Lindy"'s Story
John J. “Lindy” Hollins age 89 of Hampstead, N.H., died Wednesday at his daughter’s home in Sandown, N.H.
Lindy was born in Methuen, where he grew up and attended schools. He was a resident of Hampstead for the past 34 years, formerly of Methuen.
Lindy was a construction supervisor for the MF Corporation in Boston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was an active member of the American Legion Post 200 in Hampstead, N.H. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, and hiking to go blueberry picking with his brother. He also loved his yearly drives to Georgia.
He is survived by his children, John Hollins Jr. and his companion Ann Gross of Methuen, David and his wife Patricia Hollins of Salem, N.H., Kevin and his wife Kim Hollins of Salem, N.H., Linda Hollins of Hampstead, NH, and Donna and her husband, Al Rosene of Sandown, N.H.; who took great care of him the past year; sister, Eileen Roth of Fayetteville, Ga.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews, He was predeceased by his former wife, Lorraine D. (McKenzie) Hollins.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph, Salem, N.H. Cremation will follow.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Sunday, Oct. 22nd, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Rd, Windham, N.H.
